Two Promotions Enhance Child Psychiatric Services Penobscot Bay Medical Center is pleased to announce the promotion of two mental health specialists in the hospital's Outpatient Psychiatry Department. Dr. Luke Engeriser has been named medical director of outpatient psychiatry. Dr. Sally Cooper has been named associate medical director for child psychiatry. Previously, both were staff psychiatrists at PBMC. Learn more now. Meet PBMC's New Pediatrician Dr. Kevin Strong has taken over the pediatrics practice of Dr. Edna Sayat in Rockport. He was previously in private practice in Fairfield, Conn. When Strong and his wife, Amanda, decided to move to an area with a less hectic lifestyle, they found the choice an easy one. "This was my favorite job offer and my wife's favorite community, so it was doubly attractive," he said. "The other pediatricians as well as everyone I've met professionally at Penobscot Bay Medical Center are just great." Read more now.
PBMC has Maine's Outstanding Dietician for 2008 Marcia Kyle, RD, LD, CDE, a dietician at the Pen Bay Healthcare Diabetes and Nutrition Care Center, was recently named Outstanding Dietitian of the Year by the American Dietetic Association. In related news, the Pen Bay Healthcare Diabetes and Nutritional Care Center has received the prestigious American Diabetes Association Education Recognition Certificate for its diabetes self-management education program. Personnel at the Diabetes and Nutrition Care Center are Registered Dieticians Eileen Molloy, MS, RD, CDE and Marcia Kyle, RD, LD, CDE and Registered Nurses Brenda Berry, RN and Donna Dugal, RN. Read more now. PBMC Welcomes Dr. Colin Coor Dr. Colin Coor has joined the active medical staff in the Emergency Department at Penobscot Bay Medical Center. A native of Burlington, Vt., Coor is a graduate of the University of Vermont College of Medicine. His undergraduate degrees, in nutritional biochemistry and biological sciences, are also from UVM, where he was second in his undergraduate class. Read more about Dr. Coor.
Dr. William Master is the new president of the PBMC medical staff As chief medical officer of the hospital, Dr. Master acts as a day-to-day liaison with the Pen Bay Healthcare Board and the chief executive officer. He also reports on the medical activities of the staff and represents their views and needs to the Board and CEO. Read more now. Meet PBMC's three new primary care doctors Penobscot Bay Medical Center is pleased to announce the addition of three primary care physicians to the hospital's medical community. All three are joining Penobscot Bay Family Medicine in Rockport, which also includes Dr. Carrie Thackeray and a physician's assistant, Mira Su Thurston, PA. "We have been successful in recent years in attracting new doctors to serve the community, having added more than 20 new physicians in just the last three years," said Dr. Dana Goldsmith, Vice President, Medical Affairs, PBMC. "In this highly competitive environment, recruiting these new primary care doctors to help meet the needs of the PBMC service area speaks highly of the reputation of our medical staff and our beautiful community."
