Dr. Andrew Lackoff is new hospitalist at PBMCDr. Andrew Lackoff
Penobscot Bay Medical Center welcomes a new hospitalist physician, Dr. Andrew Lackoff, to the active medical staff.

Before joining PBMC, Lackoff was an emergency physician at St. Andrews Hospital in Boothbay Harbor. He came to Maine 20 years ago to join the family practice at Waldoboro Family Medicine. He has worked at Waldo County General Hospital as an emergency physician and at Sheepscot Valley Health Center as a family physician.  Read more now.

Dr. Martyn Vickers receives international honorMartyn Vickers
A member of the Pen Bay Urology team, Dr. Martyn Vickers has received the Distinguished Service Award from the Sexual Medicine Society of North America at their annual meeting in Toronto, Ontario.

Dr. Vickers, a Maine native, was cited for his work in development of medical devices and techniques to identify, preserve and if necessary reconstruct the nerves that control erectile function during prostate cancer surgery. His research in determining the physical and chemical properties of erectile tissue was recognized. Learn more now.

Dr. Sean O'Donnell is new hospitalist at PBMCDr. Sean O'Donnell
Hospitalists help manage patients throughout the continuum of hospital care, often seeing patients in the Emergency Department, admitting them to inpatient wards, following them as necessary into the Special Care Unit, and organizing post-acute care.

Dr. Sean O'Donnell previously worked at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis, Mass., the Miles Medical Group in Damariscotta, and the Lahey Clinic in Lexington, Mass., where he was a senior staff physician. He received his bachelor's degree from Bates College and his medical degree from Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pa. His residency training in internal medicine was at the Lahey Clinic. Read more now.

Two Promotions Enhance Child Psychiatric Services
Penobscot Bay Medical Center is pleased to announce the promotion of two Dr. Sally Cooper and Dr. Luke Engerisermental health specialists in the hospital's Outpatient Psychiatry Department. Dr. Luke Engeriser has been named medical director of outpatient psychiatry. Dr. Sally Cooper has been named associate medical director for child psychiatry. Previously, both were staff psychiatrists at PBMC. Learn more now.

Meet PBMC's New Pediatrician
Dr. Kevin Strong has taken over the pediatrics practice of Dr. Edna Sayat in Dr. Kevin StrongRockport. He was previously in private practice in Fairfield, Conn. When Strong and his wife, Amanda, decided to move to an area with a less hectic lifestyle, they found the choice an easy one. "This was my favorite job offer and my wife's favorite community, so it was doubly attractive," he said. "The other pediatricians as well as everyone I've met professionally at Penobscot Bay Medical Center are just great."  Read more now. 

 
PBMC has Maine's Outstanding Dietician for 2008Marcia Kyle, left.
Marcia Kyle, RD, LD, CDE, a dietician at the Pen Bay Healthcare Diabetes and Nutrition Care Center, was recently named Outstanding Dietitian of the Year by the American Dietetic Association.  Read more.

In related news, the Pen Bay Healthcare Diabetes and Nutritional Care Center has received the prestigious American Diabetes Association Education Recognition Certificate for its diabetes self-management education program. Personnel at the Diabetes and Nutrition Care Center are Registered Dieticians Eileen Molloy, MS, RD, CDE and Marcia Kyle, RD, LD, CDE and Registered Nurses Brenda Berry, RN and Donna Dugal, RN. PBMC Welcomes Dr. Colin CoorDr. Colin Coor
Dr. Colin Coor has joined the active medical staff in the Emergency Department at Penobscot Bay Medical Center.
A native of Burlington, Vt., Coor is a graduate of the University of Vermont College of Medicine. His undergraduate degrees, in nutritional biochemistry and biological sciences, are also from UVM, where he was second in his undergraduate class. Read more about Dr. Coor 

Meet PBMC's three new primary care doctors
Penobscot Bay Medical Center is pleased to announce theFrom left, Dr. Jeffrey Landfair, Dr. Michael Kumin and Dr. Ted Wissink addition of three primary care physicians to the hospital's medical community. All three are joining Penobscot Bay Family Medicine in Rockport, which also includes Dr. Carrie Thackeray and a physician's assistant, Mira Su Thurston, PA.
